RISE & I finally found a great place to go out
What a week! Last Wednesday I had my first grad school exam! It went well, I think. The problem is I enjoy and do well in essays but when it comes to multiple choices I always have some trouble. It was my first exam with the professor so at least for the next one I will be more prepared and less nervous.
Besides the exam on Wednesday, we had on campus Thursday and Friday RISE symposium. This is the biggest event of the School of Business and it occurs once a year. During these two days UD has CEO's, CFO's, economists, government leaders, and so on. They give speeches about what they do, who they are, etc, etc. The keynote speaker this year was Rev. Jesse Jackson. On Friday there was a reception on the UD arena with him and being part of the President's Emissaries allowed me to attend to this event and meet him! It was a great experience and when he spoke he gave so much power and strength to the room, it was amazing! He is one of those people that when they enter to a room everyone shuts up or just looks at them because of the presence they give.
After 4 years at UD I can say I have found the best place to hang out in Dayton!!!!!!!!! The thing is I love dancing & music, and just going to a place that has nice music and a great atmosphere and yesterday I found that place!!!! Don't get me wrong Dayton has great places but I still didn't find a place that made me feel I was at Puerto Rico...but...this has changed! The place is called Adobe Gilas and it is located at the Greene Mall (the newest mall in our area & its outdoors!). I went with my best friend Helen and we had a blast! The music and atmosphere were great! It's not only a place to hang out but a Mexican restaurant so you can also grab a bite. It is a very similar concept to Sr. Frog's. I will definitely be going to this place on the weekends!
