Snow Days!
Snow days are wonderful and this week I had two days off due to winter weather. After a long weekend at home and not enough sleep, the days off were a wonderful break. This semester has been amazing and I am really enjoying teaching at my new school everyday. I finally feel like I know how it will be to have my own classroom.
The snow days offered me the opportunity to work on the final stages of my honors thesis. I have been writing a thesis for the past year based on a study I conducted on No Child Left Behind. My advisor and I have been working together to make the final revisions before I send the completed copy to the printer. The opportunity to conduct research and write this thesis has been one of the best experiences that I have had at UD. At first I was nervous about completing such a large task, but after it was broken down into steps and I learned about all of the guidance that I would be given, I decided to take it on. I have learned as much about myself through this process as I have learned about educational policy and reform. In March, I will present my findings to my classmates at the Honors Student Symposium. This research opportunity has been a great eye opener to future options for graduate studies. I would recommend completing an undergraduate thesis to anyone considering the option.
