Education Interview Day

Yesterday was Education Interview Day on campus. Career services put on a job fair for all students in education to meet with districts, both local and far away. It was a great experience to attend the job fair and have an interview with a school district. I met with a charter school and the interview gave me wonderful insight into my interviewing personality. I feel like nerves and rehearsed answers aside, the interview gave me an idea of how comfortable I am talking about my educational experience and philosophy of education. I am now looking forward to future interviews and the process of becoming part of a school faculty. I am not ruling out the chance to move to Korea with Fulbright, but I am keeping my options open in the case I am not chosen for the scholarship.

Following the job fair, the professors in the special education department provided dinner and a discussion between all special education seniors about the interviews. We composed a list of common interview questions, surprising questions and any other questions that we wanted to share with the group. I think that this short dinner experience was extremely beneficial because not only did we share the questions as a group, but also had the opportunity to create a dialogue about possible responses to the questions. Thank you professors!
