Well...It's summer now...and I graduated.

So it has been about four weeks since I graduated and to say a lot of things have happened would be an understatement. Our graduation party went incredibly well. Our house combined with another house and one other friend to make it an 11 family party. We went out and got a tent, had some live music courtesy of Schultz and Tumbush and had a giant pot luck dinner with plenty of great food. Throughout the night we would give out awards as well, I want to again congratulate my roommate Joe for receiving the best boyfriend ever award.

The next day was graduation and I can say it was a hodge podge of emotions. Walking up to get my diploma I was pretty pumped. Let me say as well, I did not go for the hand shake that most go for after the President hands you the diploma. Oh no, I went for the full on hug and let me say, President Curran must workout for he has a powerful, yet comforting, hug. During graduation I had what I considered my goodbye to many friends in the School of Business. We all talked, joked and I even got 7 rows of graduates to do the wave in the middle of the ceremony.

After graduation though, as we pulled away from my house for the last time I started crying. That only got worse as I handed my keys in and realized that 7 Lawnview was no longer my house. From that point I spent nearly the whole ride to Columbus in some form of tears. While Dayton to Daytona was around the corner and I knew I would see my friends there, something was so final about driving away. It was weird.

Dayton to Daytona came next. Every year the Dayton campus goes to Daytona and spends roughly a week on the pool decks enjoying the sun and relaxing after finals. This was my second year attending and I did have a pretty fun time. I plan to have a seperate entry about this however. I have it written I just want to refine it some more as it is a rather emotional entry and was tough for me to write.

Since that has all happened I have been taking it pretty easy. The job search isn't really happening for me. At least not a super intense one My Dad has a small business that he is growing and I plan to help with that. However he is being incredibly nice and giving me all the time off I need to adjust. I plan to as well get a job on the side, seomthing small, for fun. I'm trying to start a cover band as well. It's going pretty well. I have my drummer, a piano player, an acoustic rhythm player and myself. Hopefully we will be able to at least play a church festival by the end of summer and maybe make some money at gigs next year.

I'm not to sure where my life is going to head from here. Rest assured I have many good things planned this summer to keep you updated on. For example, we are entering a float into a joke parade for the Fourth of July (the walking Hillary Clinton's is what we are going with right now but suggestions are welcome). Also I think I'm going to start a BBQ business selling food at festivals and fairs. Something to get my feet wet in the world of business before I really jump in. I think I'm going to call it "Front Porch BBQ and Smoke", maybe have a pig sitting on a lawn chair on a porch as my logo. It will be my small way of keeping my UD porch sitting memories alive. That or maybe a t shirt business. Many good things are to come and hopefully I can show everyone that life after UD, while not the same, can be pretty good. Wubba Wubba Wubba
