A Damn Fine Place

Due to my desk arrangement (refer to earlier entry for photos) my room really isn't an ideal place to get work done. If I'm in my room, I'm in my bed, and that's really only suitable for watching TV and sleeping, two events which seem to overlap alot. The constant thump of bass notes and the endless chatter from down the hall are two more factors which severly distract one from studying in Founders. And so, I am forced to find a more suitable in which to attend to my studies. The location which I have found to be best suited for me is the sixth floor of the lovely Roesch Library.

The sixth floor is a quiet place, sparsely populated even in the peak library hours, and as such I am able to accomplish quite a bit. As I write this entry, I am taking a quick break from reading 30 pages on our constitutional democracy, as well as Federalist Papers 10 and 51. Now, don't get me wrong, this is a thrilling subject for me, but were I in my room, subject to temptations of Comedy Central and Tecmo (Denver Broncos 12-0 in our current season!) then I would unquestionably be waylaid. But here in the quiet of the library, I control the volume of the music, and the only distractions are Facebook and the Drudge Report. I am, however, able to resist these alluring seductresses, although it requires a considerable amount of my steely resolve.

My advice to all you high school seniors reading this, is that wherever you choose to go, get to know your library. It's there to serve you, and if you get into the habit of going there regularly. And if you make the right choice, then look for me next year, sitting in my corner of the sixth floor. Only, if you take my spot, I'll make your life miserable. Just kidding.

Or am I?

No, I am kidding.
