We did it! Almost...

Our intramural team, the Spatulas, made it to the FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! It was so incredible! Tonight we played a great game against a really good team. The score was pretty even almost the entire time until the very end when we began to struggle a bit. We ended up losing by about 6 or 7 points, so it was such a good game! Although I am bummed that we couldn't pull out a win, I am so proud of our team and all of our fans. For the intramural championship games they put out a little set of bleachers for fans to sit on, and our fans pretty much filled up the entire section. And because of our pretty unique team name, they even brought props...that's right, they waved spatulas around as they cheered us on! It was truly incredible to have that much support from our friends and it made losing much more bearable, despite the fact that I can get pretty competitive. When looking at the past four years, the Spatulas have come so far. We've never had any significant winning streaks, so the fact that we made it to the final was not only impressive, but surprising! Even though we went out with a bang, it was definitely sad when we realized we will never have a Spatuals game again...so of course we celebrated with ice cream afterward! I'm sure there will be one more random pick-up game or shooting session with us before the end of the year, but knowing it was officially over was just another one of those "sad senior moments." I'm sure they will continue to happen frequently as the semester winds down, so I might as well get used to it!
