Reunion Weekend 2008

Last weekend was the infamous Reunion Weekend 2008...the one weekend a year in which every alumni looks forward to because they can come back to UD and relive their favorite college memories with their best friends. Last year, I was on campus to visit some friends so I was able to experience this crazy weekend, but this year I experienced it on a whole new level because I worked it. From 5:00 Friday until 1:18 Sunday morning, I was working Reunion Weekend events with about a six hour break for sleep. I bartended for the class of '93 on Friday night, then worked the all-class picnic Saturday afternoon, then bartended all Saturday night for the all-class "Porch Party" in which the ArtStreet parking lot is transformed into a classic "student neighborhood" party...except there's an open bar and a live band. Despite the fatigue and tiredness I felt when it was all over, I had a great time interacting with the alumni. It's also nice to know that once I'm an alum, fun times at UD are not over because I will be able to look forward to Reunion Weekend each year after I graduate...and from what I saw last weekend, it'll be a guaranteed good time.
