Junior Year Countdown...

Well now that I'm back and settled in at home, I've realized just how boring things get around here when I don't have a job. Before I left to go abroad, I was working a lot so that I could make enough money for the trip. When I left, however, I went ahead and turned in my keys at work and didn't plan on coming back for the rest of the summer. I guess I just didn't realize that I still had a good three weeks at home until I went back to school. And now, here I am, semi-unemployed and a bit bored at home. But that's okay, because I've got a two week subscription to NetFlix and plenty of books to read that I know the next couple weeks will fly by. And plus, my parents are out of town for this next week, too, so I'm playing "mom" right now by taking care of my dog and little brother. Okay, well my brother's not so "little" anymore...he's almost 17, but he's not yet at the age where he can be completely trusted alone for an entire week. So, it's me giving the curfew and setting the ground rules for the next 6 days...pretty fun, huh?

Anyway, my housemates and I are so excited to move into our house in just a couple of weeks. In fact, my one roommate, Jessica, is already living there! She's been living on campus all summer working for the University, when a copule weeks ago, housing emailed her to let her know that our house is ready! That worked out so well for her because she was able to leave the dorm she had been staying in and go ahead and move into our house! I actually drove up to Dayton on Monday to hang out with her and see it, which was so much fun. It was so exciting to finally walk into "my house" for the first time. We had been to that same house last year, but since it wasn't yet "ours" it didn't feel quite the same as it did on Monday. Just walking through it thinking that I get to live there for the next two semesters made it so much more exciting. It's a great house with a great location...we even already know who most of our neighbors are going to be and we haven't even moved in yet!

Until I can officially move in, though, I'll be counting down the days, just like it's freshman year all over again. In high school, going back to school in August was definitely never something I looked forward to...at UD, it's the opposite. Just 17 more days and junior year, here I come!
