End of Summer Craziness
It's funny how when summer begins to wind down, it's like you find yourself trying to do as many things as possible within the shortest period of time. At the beginning of the summer, you feel like you have an endless amount of time, so you keep putting off everything while thinking, I have the ENTIRE summer, why worry about that now? Next thing you know, move-in day is in a week and you never really did any of the stuff you said you were going to do. It's been even worse than normal for me this summer, since I was studying abroad for an entire month of it. It made my "endless" summer feel an entire 30 days shorter. Now, as excited as I am to get back and move into our house, I find myself cramming in so many things within the next 7 days.
For instance, my car has needed fixed for the past few weeks. However, it wasn't until yesterday that I finally took it anywhere to get looked at. Then there's Cedar Point. Only one of the BEST amusement parks in the world and I only live 2 hours from it. I try to go at least once every summer but I kept putting it off and it looks as if there's no way to squeeze that in now. On top of those things, I find myself trying to hang out with as many friends from home as I can before I go back. I'm normally the first one out of my group of friends to leave for school, so I've got to make the effort and try and see all of my friends before I leave. And of course, I can't forget about all of the "back to school" shopping and packing I still have to do. The shopping part gets easier each year at least (as I acquire more things for my dorm, apartment, house), but there's still a good amount that needs to be done. We still need to find a couch, patio furniture, and a hammock for our house, too, but where to buy that kind of stuff on a college student's budget, I have no clue.
I have exactly nine days until I move in, so until then, it's a lot of packing, shopping, car repairs, and get-togethers. It's going to be a bit busy, but I think I can manage.
