Birthday Fun
I turned 21 yesterday, and it was the first time I've been able to celebrate my birthday with my UD friends. Since I have a summer birthday, I'm normally not with my school friends, except for last year when I was in Spain for it. That was fun, but I think my 21st was one of the best birthdays yet. Despite the fact that it landed on a Monday, my friends still took time out of their busy work schedules to celebrate with me. Sunday night I went back to Columbus to see a few of my friends from home, and when I came back to Dayton yesterday, my room was decorated and I had a couple birthday presents waiting for me. Then, that evening I finally had the privilege of experiencing some of the famous bars right next to campus. We were pretty much the only people there since it was as Monday night, but it was nice to spend time with my friends and take a few days off work.
My birthday celebration part 2 begins on Thursday when I leave for Las Vegas...my parents are taking me for my birthday present, and my uncle and grandma will be joining us, too, plus I get to bring my friend Steph, so I know we'll have a great time there. I can't wait to spend five days in abundant sunshine and 108 degree weather...I looked up the forecast for Thursday and that's how hot it's supposed to be. Luckily, since Vegas is in the desert, it's dry heat with very little humidity, unlike this crazy Ohio weather where it's 90 degrees with 85 percent humidity. It'll definitely be a change of pace and a good break from work, so I'm counting down the days! Until then, I better learn how to gamble!
