And we're off! Senior year begins...
Everyone is finally back and senior year is off to a pretty good start! Getting used to going to classes again has been a bit difficult, though. It seems more difficult than it has been in the past, and I think that's because I was on campus all summer, so I never had that feeling of returning to campus and getting back into that "academic mode" again. I was so used to my summer schedule of having way less commitments and now all of a sudden, there is so much going on! It definitely took a couple days to adjust, but now that I've had at least each class once, I'll be alright. It helps that I'm excited for my class schedule this year, too. Everything I'm taking I'm really interested to learn about. That's definitely a good thing about being a senior: actually being able to have freedom with scheduling classes!
It was so exciting to see the freshmen move in last weekend. My friends and I had fun meeting some of the new students during orientation weekend, and it's crazy to think that it's been more than THREE years since we were in that position. The beginning of senior year has been much different than the start of any other year here at UD. My friends and I are much more nostalgic for the past and we are kind of denying the fact that this is our last year here. Some of my friends have even been joking that the "g-word" (graduation) is banned in their houses. Our house hasn't gone that far, yet...but it's definitely something no one really likes to bring up. Right now my goal is to just work on savoring every moment of senior year...everything from going to class and studying in the library to spending time with my roommates doing absolutely nothing and reading a book in one of my favorite spots on campus. I'd rather do that than live in the fear of the dreaded g-word...
