An Eventful Fall Break

The whole group in front of the Lighthouse. Mark, Liz, me, Alyssa, Melissa, and Nick.

Last weekend was fall break and it was definitely something ALL of us were looking forward to. We had both Thursday and Friday off, giving us a nice and long four day weekend. By the time Wednesday of last week rolled around, campus was buzzing as if it was the last day of finals.

I had TWO huge midterms that day, both in psychology. My first one was in my developmental psychopathology class, which was the second exam of the semester, so at least I knew what to expect. Still, it was a pretty challenging test that I had to study a lot for. My other test was later in the day but it was for my psychology of religion...a class I absolutely LOVE, by the way. However, I wasn't as excited about taking this exam. It was our first test of the semester in this class so it was a true midterm and covered A LOT of information. I was up late the night before studying for it, and still trying to cram for my other psychology exam as well. Needless to say, Tuesday night and Wednesday were stressful days, but it helped so much to know that soon after the midterms were over I had a nice long weekend awaiting me.

Each fall (and spring) break I like to do something different than I have in previous years. Freshmen year I stayed here at UD and experienced the quietness of campus during a long weekend. I hung out with a few friends who also chose to stay here, and it was a rather relaxing weekend. Last year I decided to go home, spend the four days with my family and get necessary things taken care of such as doctors' appointments and stuff. This year, though, has probably been my favorite fall break yet.

Three of my roommates and I went to our roommate Melissa's house with her for the break. It was her birthday the first day of break so we thought it would be fun to celebrate by getting to see her hometown and everything. Since she lives up in Fremont, Ohio, it was only a half hour drive to Cedar Point! So, we drove up there all day Saturday and rode as many rides as we could. There were also Halloween attractions so we walked through a couple of spooky haunted houses. I held onto my roommate Alyssa the entire time with my head buried in her shoulder...I'm not the greatest when it comes to dressed up people jumping out at my unexpectedly.

But other than that, it was a great weekend and so amazing to get away from campus and just spent some time with my friends. Last week's classes were tough to get through after coming off an extended weekend, but we managed and I think I'm refreshed enough for the second half of the semester...that is, until finals start...
