6 Roommates, 6 Reasons.

We are so cute :)

Our house dinners are what get me through the week. I look forward to every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday because it's when we eat together as a community. Part of living in a Marianist Student Community is having dinner together three times a week. During one of those times, we host an "outreach" dinner in which we invite outside members of the community, such as our neighbors, to join us. Tuesdays are when we typically have our outreach dinners, and a different roommate cooks each week. We've been so accustomed to doing this each week, that I sometimes take for granted how nice it is to be so close with the six girls I live with. Especially after a long day of classes and activities, it's great to know that I can come home and spend time with my roommates. We catch each other up on how our days went, and even say one thing we are thankful for that day. At night, we share in prayer together, too. Praying together as a community three times a week is also part of our Marianist Community commitment, and it's another thing that helps us grow closer.

We are more than just "friends who live together." We are a close-knit, faith-based community dedicated in living lifestyles consistent with our beliefs and spreading the Marianist values to others. When I first decided to live in a Marianist house, I was just excited because we knew we had a house and they were some of my best friends. But as the year has gone by, it's become much more than that. They are the 6 people that keep me going through the week, and the top 6 reasons I absolutely love UD. They let me vent when I've had a long day, they know what's important to me and hold me accountable for those things, they do me favors "just because," they watch my favorite T.V. shows with me when I feel like procrastinating, they help me relax when I'm stressed out, and most importantly, they make me laugh for HOURS on end.
