Reunions are a MUST

This weekend was Reunion Weekend at UD...the time when all UD alumni are invited back to spend a couple days on campus reuniting with their friends from. I went to a reunion this weekend, however it wasn't THE Official Reunion Weekend at UD that I attended. Instead, a big group of my friends and I met up at our friend Sarah's house to spend the weekend together for the first time since graduation. Although the "official" Reunion Weekend at UD would have been fun, it is geared more towards those who have been graduated for a few years...not a few weeks like we have. There only ended up being about 10 of us who were able to meet up at Sarah's house, but it was a great time just because I was once again with the friends I've practically (and literally) lived with for the past four years. Even thought it had seemed like awhile since we had all seen each other, when we got together it was as if we picked up where we left off...as if nothing had changed, and I really enjoyed that. We are also planning one more big get-together before I leave for Arizona (I leave in less than a month!), so we plan on meeting up for the fourth of July weekend. Not only is it a fun holiday, but it will be my last weekend in Ohio so I might as well spend it with some of my friends from UD!

It's also weird to think that exactly two years ago, I was headed to Spain for my study abroad program. The Spain trip that I took is offered only every two years, so this year, I know quite a few people who are going, and they leave tomorrow! It seems like forever ago that I was getting ready to study abroad for a month, and it's so great to impart my (small amount of) wisdom to my friends that are participating in the same program I did. I am so excited for them to experience the blessings and joys of being able to go abroad and I can't wait to hear stories once the trip is over. Studying abroad is one thing I cannot stress enough about college. Whenever I meet new first-year students or those who are headed into college, I tell them that they should take the chance to study abroad if they are able. Sure, I had to pile on a few more student loans to afford the trip, but it was worth every penny, including the interest!
