Here I am!

Finally...I am able to take a chance to update everyone on my life!

I arrived in Arizona last Saturday and since then it's been mostly training for my new job here in Phoenix at Maggie's Place. Our week of training was referred to as "boot camp" because it was so intense...but forunately, there were no push-ups involved. Boot camp was great despite the way it sounds because the new staff and I were able to learn SO much about the organization. On Saturday, boot camp was finally over and we became "official" staff members which was pretty awesome. Since then, I've been learning the ropes of the house and holding many, many babies. Because this job is demaning so much of me, I don't have much time to describe exactly what I do, but I can definitely say that I am loving it so far!

It's refreshing to finally have a "real" job that involves much of what I spent four years studying. And I'm not going to lie, it's nice to think I won't have any exams to study for or papers to write in the future. I think it will hit me more when August rolls around and "back to school" season begins and I am not going back to school...it will be a weird feeling. Fortuantely, Maggie's Place runs kind of by "school years," so really the year begins at the end of July and ends at the beginning of July...so it's set up mostly like a school year which makes the transition into the job world much easier.

Anyway, job duties are calling, but I will update again when I get a chance!
