Another Graduation

Today my little brother graduates from high school! Okay, so maybe he isn't so "little" anymore, but to me he always will be. It seems like we just got done with all of my graduation festivities, but now it's time to start all over again with my brother. He graduates tonight and his party is next weekend, not to mention we have family from all over the country coming into town. Oh yeah, and I got my OFFICIAL University of Dayton diploma in the mail today! The diploma they gave us at graduation wasn't the real one (so they could make sure people passed their finals and paid their fess and such), so now I finally have my real degree!

It's gong to be weird going to graduation tonight, knowing that just four years ago I was sitting in the same spot as my brother and it's crazy to think about how much has happened since then. At our high school's graduation, they also go through and announce all the colleges the students plan to attend. I am not going to lie, I am pretty excited to see how many future Dayton Flyers there will be in the crowd of high school graduates. Like our Student Government Association President said at our graduation a few weeks ago, "There are three types of people in the world: Current Flyers, Future Flyers, and those who aren't lucky enough to experience what it's like to be a Flyer." Unfortunately, my brother is in the third group of those people. He plans to attend Wright State next year, which is ironically enough in Dayton, OH. UD wasn't really an option for him because he has plans to be part of a strong Bachelor of Fine Arts program and Wright State is well known for theirs. Although I am disappointed that Ben won't get to experience the joys of being a Dayton Flyer, I am excited that he will still get to live in the same city that I have for the past four years so I can impart all of my "Dayton wisdom" to him.
