No Time but Feeling Fine!
This summer is starting off pretty well. Without all the stress associated with school I am able to enjoy my evenings relaxing without worrying about what test I should be studying for, or what paper is due soon. Granted my evenings are not very long. With work, dinner, and chores around the house I usually have only about 2 hours of true freedom.
One might think I would be upset about this lack of time, but I actually enjoy it. The cause is my internship at Miami Valley Hospital. With full days of work and an hour commute both ways my free time is significantly diminished. However, I do not mind this at all. I'm enjoying the work and as long as they have projects for me to do the day goes by pretty fast. For the long commutes I went to the library and picked up some books on tape. Currently I have almost finished A Thousand Splendid Suns (a very interesting read, or listen in my case). These really make the trip quick and easy. Paying for gas is a different story but while it pains me to fill up multiple times a week, I know living on campus would be more expensive.
While time during the week is incredibly tight, weekends tend to be much more open. I decided to make a list of all the activities I would like to do this summer and have been crossing them off as I get a group together to participate. Some of the activities include: a water fight, camping (already have a date set in June), going to Kings Island (an amusement park in Cincinnati), and reading all of my Tolkien books again (he is my favorite author). I have already completed going to a reds game and attending an Opera so I think I am doing pretty well.
