A Sandusky Weekend

This past weekend was great fun yet a tragedy. Friday, I planned to head up to Sandusky, Ohio with a few friends to attend a birthday celebration and to go to Cedar Point. One of my friends owns a lake house close to the amusement park and decided it would be fun to have a party.

First the tragedy hit. My car broke down. Everything went well until just as we were getting off the highway, maybe 4 miles from our destination and 4 hours from home. The transmission suddenly just gave out and the car would not move. As everyone can imagine this is obviously the best way to start a weekend, particularly if you are 4 hours from home. I personally was freaking out. We pushed the car to a Shell station and quickly realized that the car was not going to be moving anytime soon. In the end we had to tow it to a dealership the next day and get a rental car. Needless to say, I ended up spending more money than I expected.

After that the weekend was wonderful. We had a great time at the party. There was a bonfire, music, games, a hot tub and we were on the lake so we had a great view. The next day we went to Cedar Point and got to ride almost all the rides. My favorite had to be the Maverick, but the Top Thrill Dragster did not disappoint either. We ended up spending the entire day yelling our brains out as we flew through coaster after coaster. By the time night came around we were all exhausted. I do not think I have ever slept so well on a hard wood floor.

Taking everything into account I would say the weekend was probably a wash. Seeing as my car remains up in Sandusky I might actually have a chance to try again. I am not sure how I expect it to turn out.
