The end of yet another summer

That's it. Mid-August and the end of the summer. Allow me to take a few moments to reflect on this summer, which has been unlike any other before it.

It was the first time I spent the entire summer away from home. Although home will always feel like home, I will be a visitor there rather than a resident from now on. Being away from home the entire year as well as having a full-time job made me feel much more independent. Through my job and my personal time, I have become much more familiar with Dayton and Cincinnati and have come to appreciate the region's positive aspects. Living in my house on campus was fun and affordable. For the first time, I did not have any vacation besides a couple quick weekend trips home, although I am spending all of next week in Atlanta.

Co-oping was a fulfilling experience. It was great to earn money while gaining experience in my field of study. The end of the semester comes at an appropriate time when I am ready to get back to UD and learn in the classroom.

Overall I had a good summer, and I'm looking forward to stepping back into the academic scene AND the social scene.
