Settling In

One week into my last semester at UD, I am starting to settle in to my new class schedule and routine. I am taking 15 credits, which is the least amount I've ever taken, but I'm also working on my honors thesis which is due in March. The nice thing about this semester is the relatively small amount of time that I spend in class. This is my first semester in a long time that I'm not taking a lab. While labs are typically only one credit hour, they take up a lot of your time due to the length of the experiments and the lab reports and other assignments involved.

Although I don't spend too much time in class, I stay busy enough with 3 graduate level classes, my senior capstone design project, and my thesis project. One nice aspect of my civil engineering senior design class is the collaboration required between members of each group. I am in the structures group, and we spend quite a bit of time working together in the engineering building.

On another note, the Flyers started their A-10 conference play yesterday with a visit to UMASS. Although they played decently in the first half, they fell apart in the second half and lost. Throughout my previous four basketball seasons, the Flyers have played very well in non-conference play, only to decline during conference games. Hopefully this year will be different, but we'll see.
