Here it comes
Here it comes: the massive workload I've been anticipating for this semester. So far, this semester has not been very hectic with Labor Day and introductory classes. But now the real stress is setting in. Not only is there a lot of homework assigned, but there are tests coming up, projects getting underway, and extracurricular activities/concerns coming into play. It will be difficult to muster enough energy and enthusiasm to handle it all.
This past weekend was very busy. I participated in the annual American Society of Civil Engineers golf outing. This is definitely the best social activity that the ASCE chapter of UD hosts. Really, the only bad thing about it is having to wake up very early on a Saturday. You can play on either a team of students or a team of professionals from the area. Last year, I played with fellow classmates while this year I played with guys from a local construction company. I was quite pleased with my performance, and made some good contacts while golfing and enjoying lunch afterwards.
Of course, I had to watch the ND - Penn State game which was glorious. A great football weekend was rounded off by Georgia, Georgia Tech, and the Falcons winning. Oh, and UD won too!
On Sunday the Berry Scholars participated in their annual picnic which is held in early September. Everyone can catch up on what's going on for the new school year. It is also a chance to meet some of the freshman Berry Scholars. It is held at the Patterson Homestead on Brown Street and usually involves lots of delicious food. The weather could not have been better either.
