Halloween at UD

Halloween is a very exciting holiday in college. Thanks to the unusually warm weather, Halloween was particularly festive this year at UD. Students look forward to wearing ridiculous costumes and running around the student neighborhood to show them off. The entire week before Halloween is filled with questions: what are you going to dress up as? Where are you going to get your costume? Are you going to buy one or make one yourself?

Not only was the weather perfect this year, but Halloween was also on a Friday. Therefore, students were able to wear their costumes late into the night and, in some cases, all weekend. Of course, there were many Obama, McCain, and Palin costumes. Many people were quite creative in creating their own costumes. For example, one of my roommates was a "head on a platter".

I finally purchased a costume this year that I have always wanted - a full gorilla suit! In the past, I've been discouraged by the price of gorilla suits at mainstream costume stores. But I found just the right kind at just the right price at Target. In fact, I took a big risk that paid off by waiting until the day before Halloween to get my costume. There was only one gorilla costume left, and it was in the returns section of the store. Being so close to Halloween, I got 30% off the outfit. This costume will undoubtedly serve me well for many years to come.
