Half Way Through
As usual, it is hard to believe that the summer is already half-way done. Even when you're on vacation, it seems like you never have time to do everything you want and/or need to do. I have enjoyed spending a couple months at home with my parents, something I have not done for three years. You don't realize it when you're growing up, but it is incredible to have meals, laundry, and a comfortable bed provided every day at no cost!
The work experience this summer has been a great change of pace. I've gained some practical knowledge at the structural engineering firm in Atlanta, but I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to get back to school. It's interesting to think that when I move into my house on Kiefaber in a month and a half, it will be the last time I move into UD housing. I will truly have to savor each moment and experience this upcoming year as if it's my last (because it will be!). Like anywhere else, you find aspects of your university that you dislike. But when you're away from it for an extended period, you miss it dearly and think about all the things you love about being on campus. Maybe that's why UD alumni are so active when it comes to reunions, alumni weekends, and basketball games.
In keeping with the UD spirit, visitors will always be welcome at my house in the South Student Neighborhood this year!
