End of Semester and Christmas!
This is the first time in several weeks that I have gotten home from class and not had work to do. I have been so busy recently with tests and papers and projects. It is such a relief to be done with all of that, although I still have finals next week. UD generously gives us two days before finals each semester to study. Therefore, today was my last day of classes and the next two days are study days. Tomorrow I have to give a presentation for one of my classes, and on Friday UD hosts probably its biggest event of the year: Christmas on Campus (COC). Basically, COC brings in a bunch of kids (1500 this year) from schools around Dayton and gives them some Christmas cheer for a few hours. The COC committee decorates the entire campus and UD students adopt little kids for the evening. They can do crafts, play games, and even meet Santa. There is always enough going on for everyone on campus to get involved with.
COC also holds a house-decorating contest every year for the student neighborhood. Although we did not enter, we did decorate around our house a little (see picture).
