Catching Up

Sorry I haven't been keeping you all up to date recently on what's going on. I have been pretty busy as the end of the semester nears. I'm slowly but surely getting things done though. I got my summer and fall schedules figured out. I'm trying to make progress on my group projects and papers, and it's tough being motivated with the end so near.

The annual Stander Symposium is this week at UD. This is a day dedicated to providing students with opportunities to learn about various intellectual subjects. There will be several discussion panels concerning different topics and poster presentations by students. My sociology class will be presenting our group projects during a poster session. My group is looking at the Hispanic community in Dayton and exploring the challenges they face. The keynote speaker for the Symposium is Dr. Jane Goodall, and I'm looking forward to hearing from such a renowned scientist.

Last weekend was the annual Berry Scholars dance. As usual it was a ton of fun. On Friday, I went with my fellow ATLien Ryan and my want-to-be-ATLien Mark to the movie ATL. I felt it was necessary to see the movie about my home and my favorite A-town artist TI on opening day. It was everything I thought it would be and more. TI's new King album is pretty awesome too.

Dan really wanted to cook an Italian dinner after spending Spring Break in Florence, so he went all out last Friday. Being Friday during Lent, he cooked up some swordfish from Dorothy Lane Market (very upscale store which we can only afford once a year). I've included a picture of this exquisite cuisine.
