Approaching the home stretch
April is a month to celebrate for many reasons. It usually means the end of winter and the arrival of spring. It also serves as a reminder that the school year is almost over (just 4 more weeks including exams!). This year is very different than previous years for me, however. I will be here for a fifth year, but most of my friends will be graduating in a month, moving on to bigger and better things. As valuable as my co-op experience has been, it is sad to think that many of my friends will not be returning with me in the fall. My situation does offer me an advantage, though, in that I get a vivid preview of what I will be going through in one year. April is full of graduation preparations, fighting the lack of motivation to do school work that comes with having a job secured, and knowing that your undergraduate career will soon be gone forever. Some of my graduating friends have jobs or are going to graduate school across the country, while others are still waiting to see what the next chapter of life brings. No matter where they go or what they do, they will always be welcome back to my house at UD next year to re-live their glory days.
