Honors Student Symposium
The Honors Student Symposium was held today at UD in Kennedy Union. This event features presentations of all the undergraduate honors theses for the year. Each thesis writer is allowed 12 minutes to give a power point presentation on their work. If most students are like me, it was very hard to condense a year's worth of work into a 12-minute overview. This, as well as the Stander Symposium in April, provides the opportunity for anyone at UD to learn about what honors students are working on. Beyond these two presentations, a written thesis is submitted. A copy is kept at Roesch Library on campus, and copies are given to the writer and the faculty advisor(s). Although this was a long and tedious process, the benefits of the completed work are becoming more apparent. The opportunity to write a thesis and present my work will undoubtedly prepare me well for graduate school.
