Dayton Auto Show
Last weekend, I went to the Dayton Auto Show at the convention center downtown. Through all my years at UD, I had never heard of the Dayton Auto Show, but, as an avid car enthusiast, I could not miss the opportunity to go. This was certainly not my first car show; I've been to the Atlanta and the Chicago shows before. Not surprisingly, the Dayton show was much smaller scale, but they had an impressive variety and display. One nice thing about a smaller show is smaller crowds. It was much easier to get a closer look at cars and sit in them in Dayton than in Atlanta or Chicago.
Some of my favorite cars from the show were the Lexus IS-F, the BMW 750 and X6, the Dodge Challenger, and the new Acura TL. Obviously, the car companies are having a very tough time now, so it's very important that they display a good product at these publicity events. It was interesting to see GM still displaying Hummers, even though the brand is on the brink of extinction.
I'm going to Western Kentucky University today for the regional civil engineering competition this weekend. Then I'm heading home for spring break to relax a little and hopefully get most of my semester projects done. There's not much time left!
