Breaking the Top 25, hopefully
Last week had its ups and downs for Flyer basketball. On Sunday, we lost an away game to the Charlotte 49ers. On Wednesday, the Flyers lost point guard Rob Lowery for the rest of the season due to an injury suffered during the Xavier game. But the good news is that the Flyers got a solid win against Xavier and fought off Richmond for another home win last night. Xavier was ranked 14th nationally last week, which made beating our rival by 13 that much better. The atmosphere was as good as or better than any other Xavier game I've attended at UD Arena as a student. My ears were ringing from the constant noise, and my voice was practically gone after cheering for 2 hours. The game was replayed on ESPN later that evening, and I stayed up to watch and hear how loud we were on TV. The sixth man was definitely present..
The true test will be playing Xavier away in a couple weeks. Hopefully, we'll be ranked tomorrow and keep on winning. I've been at UD for 5 years, and I have yet to see the Flyers go to the tournament. Hopefully, I won't be disappointed again.
