The Yuppie Life
Many of my friends can now be classified as "Young Urban Professionals"...or yuppies for short. Many of them have quickly transitioned into such a lifestyle. I spent this past weekend visiting on such friend, my beloved freshman year random roomie, at her new pad in Cincinnati.
As a business major, she promptly found herself a job offer, one of many, with Dunhumby. I took 75 south to her parking-garage-converted-to-lofts building right on fourth street downtown, and subsequently began feeding the parking meter my life savings in coin.
We walked to dinner with a fellow UD grad, which also happens to be a coworker living on the same floor in her building. We spent the rest of the evening in fountain square listening to live bands and watching the Reds game on the jumbo screen, despite the fact that the game was actually being played a mere hundred feet from where we sat.
Off to Starbucks and a stroll around downtown the next morning, then lunch and furniture shopping, finished off of course with the exchange of one of her new business cards.
I think it was a quick glimpse into what lies ahead...
